On Saturday 21st September 2013 a group of around 20 of us gathered on Holes Bay Road in Poole for the latest Beachwatch Beach Clean Up, run by Poole Council.
The weather was a bit overcast but that didn’t stop us all from getting stuck in. There were members of the Poole Rowing Club who went over to Pergins Island in the middle of the harbour and collected around 10 bags of rubbish!
In all we collected around 35 bags of rubbish, so it was worth the effort.
It was another successful clean up.
Also there was a Community Liaison from Asda on Holes Bay looking for help to clean up the area around the store. There will be a private clean up organised to tackle this area sometime before the nice weather deserts us totally. Details will follow.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and there was a good atmosphere, many of those in attendance have done clean ups before so it was very much a community activity.
